Support the North Carolina Health Insurance Risk Pool by Becoming a Participating Provider

In 2007 the North Carolina General Assembly passed Session Law 2007-0532, which created the North Carolina Health Insurance Risk Pool (NCHIRP). The mission of the NCHIRP is to provide affordable health insurance coverage for North Carolinians who face high insurance premiums because of pre-existing high-risk health conditions.

MedCost, along with the NC Medical Society and NC Hospital Association, supports the NCHIRP and has agreed to develop a network of providers to deliver affordable health care to these individuals. CoreSource, whom MedCost has had a relationship since 1994, has been selected as the administrator for the NCHIRP.
